During the summer of 2023, the second season of archaeological excavation took place on the early medieval barrow cemetery in Gbely. The excavation of the burial mound, which was already started last season as part of the summer school of archeology, continued. This year, archaeology students from the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc came to gain fieldwork experience. Now that the fieldwork has ended, we are going to process and evaluate all the obtained finds, samples and data.
